Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science is one of the departments in the Faculty of Science at University of Malawi. It was established in 1980 as a Section under the Mathematics department. In 2012, Computer Science became an independent department. Until recently, it was the only department offering Computer Science in Malawi. Currently, we offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses to Faculty of Science and Faculty of Education Students.

This degree program, with an emphasis on software development, prepares you to be a productive professional in the tech field. You'll gain a practical, useful understanding of operating systems, computer architecture, algorithms, programming languages and more.
