Provide Burundi with highly qualified executives in information and communication technologies. Overall objective Contribute to the improvement of computer science in its software/programming branch by using modern technologies adapted to local realities and by encouraging the winners to create their own computer companies. <p></p> Program objectives <mark> <br> - Develop the ability to analyze problems in order to implement cost-effective software solutions; <br> - Establish measurable objectives in terms of safety, use, impact on productivity, maintenance, reliability, adaptability and economic viability; <br> - Design software and complex systems including software parts to achieve these objectives; <br> - Validate the requirements and the proposed solutions according to the problem to be solved; <br> - Implement these solutions through well-structured programs; <br> - Check that the software meets the objectives; <br> - Effectively manage and coordinate software projects and teams.</mark> <p></p> Skills provided by the training (in skill units) Graduates will leave the UPI being able to: <br> - assist master computer engineers in their various works, particularly in design offices, in public, semi-public or private establishments specializing in computer science; <br> - manage the computer parks of various public and private institutions using information and telecommunications technologies; <br> - work in international organizations or projects using information and telecommunications technologies; <br> - work in secondary technical schools teaching information technology and telecommunications; <br> - pursue master's studies in Burundi and/or other countries. <p></p> Openings Graduates of the computer science section will leave our university at this stage with a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering/programming option. <p></p> They will find employment in the following sectors: <br> - Their own businesses: They will be encouraged to create their own jobs and employment for others by implementing web-, mobile-, and professional or mass software-based businesses; <br> - The private sector: Businesses of individuals and companies with various legal statuses having information and telecommunications technologies in their fields of action; <br> - The public sector: State services having information and telecommunications technologies in their fields of action; <p></p> Each winner will be sufficiently qualified and competent to obtain employment both on Burundian territory and on the territories of neighboring countries. The BMD system allows student mobility to other countries that have adopted this system.
