Kikao64 is a not-for-profit social enterprise and a coworking space where professionals, entrepreneurs, non-profits, athletes, and start-ups are encouraged to connect, share ideas, grow, and achieve. It is a community of like-minded people. With that purpose, Kikao64 also offers subsidized spaces for non-profits, athletes, and start-ups in need. Kikao64 runs deeper than just bookable desks, offices, and meeting rooms. In addition, it provides a platform for boosting its users’ growth by presenting various workshops, guest speaker events, and in-house consulting services; this environment fosters productivity and strong working relationships. Kikao64 has partnered with talented and resourceful individuals to offer a variety of classes and workshops on creative thinking, ideation techniques, problem reframing, presentation skills, project management, financial management, data analytics, and visualization. We collaborate with experts to provide consulting services and employee training for businesses needing more hands-on assistance. Services include legal guidance, brainstorming facilitation, branding, innovative marketing, and workflow analysis. Kikao64 organizes regular events such as art exhibitions, film screenings, networking sessions, cocktail sessions, forums, and lectures—everything a vibrant town like Eldoret needs to help its knowledge seekers and innovative workforce thrive. The Kikao64 website, space, and services are available to people who are at least 16 years of age.

Tech Hub

EldoHub

EldoHub is an education, innovation and technology organization targeting youth and women, with an aim of preparing them to benefit from the opportunities the emerging ICT industry offers and close the skills gap in Africa’s job market. We provide STEM education, job matching and digital work. We also run entrepreneurship development programs for them, as well as incubate startups to bring their ideas to life. Eldohub responds to these barriers to decent employment which includes availability of skilled employees among the youth and demand by businesses to hire. We do so by supporting Young Tech Professionals to gain practical work experience and launch careers in the technology sector through job placement, training on Digital Leadership, soft skills and 1:1 mentorship by experienced professionals from the tech industry. We work with businesses and Young Tech Professionals to ensure they are mutually getting value, i.e. the business benefits from the tech talent support while the young tech professional gains from relevant skills and decent work.

We offer programmes tailored towards providing IT students with relevant knowledge and practical skills that enables them to take appropriate professional and leadership positions in Information and Communication Technology upon their graduation. Our curricula are regularly reviewed to meet the emerging technological trends and demands from the research and industry. We regularly review our curricula to cater for emerging technological trends. The department endeavors to generate the necessary IT manpower for both local and global markets. MISSION The mission of the Department of Information Technology is to conceive and design courses that enhance and support effective organisational information management. The department considers effective management of information assets and resources as critical to successful organisational performance, innovativeness and competitive edge. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES The department aims to produce individuals capable of: - To facilitate the school to graduate at least 80% of final year students into the job market and ensure 80% of continuing students successfully progress to the next level each year. - To produce at least 3 publications in internationally refereed journals and 2 conference proceedings in an academic year. - To maintain at least one linkage with similar institution and/or industry.
