Startup Lions is a digital empowerment program, providing opportunities to learn, earn and innovate for young adults in rural Kenya. <br><br> We provide opportunities for young adults in rural Kenya to learn, earn and innovate. Since 2015, we’ve been working in remote Turkana County, Northern Kenya, where the semi-arid environment and poor infrastructure severely limit sources of income. So we built a first-of-its-kind ICT campus at the shores of the region’s vast lake. If this digital education model can work here, then it can work anywhere. Women in Technology Uganda
Our STEM-centered program takes advantage of the advancing state of the digital revolution and ensures young women and girls are not left behind. Rise In Tech Africa
Rise In Tech Africa (RITA) is a world-class tech training and job placement institution spanning the entire African continent, with the aim of revolutionizing tech education across Africa. Our operations extend throughout the continent. Our goal is to train and connect 100,000 African tech talents to high-paying jobs in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa every three years. <mark>This vision is rooted in our firm belief that Africa holds immense untapped potential in the tech industry, and by empowering its brightest minds, we can drive growth and make a lasting impact.</mark> <br><br> We offer fully sponsored tech training programs and certifications for African talents, funded by corporate sponsors, philanthropic organizations, crowdfunding, individual donors, alumni paybacks and government grants. <br><br> Prospective learners undergo a free one-month training to evaluate their suitability. Upon successful completion of the one-month training, selected applicants are required to pay a one-time $100 admission fee. The subsequent 9-month career training and certifications, valued at $3,000, is fully funded by sponsors and donors, with no additional fees.
Africa Code Academy
Africa Code Academy prepares students for real-world scenarios by structuring class-time just like a software company. Meaning, students are referred to as 'Devs,' teaching assistants are called 'Project Managers' and the lead instructors are called the ‘Engineers in Residence’. And because it’s a software company-it’s all about the product. <br><br> By partnering with investors and mentors from around the world, <mark>our goal is to make high-tech learning available to students in underserved areas, enabling students to become highly skilled engineers, participate as instructors and become founders of the next generation of schools and companies.</mark> <br><br> In the long-term, our goal is to: <br> - Create a network of Engineering Residency Programs across Africa. <br> - Establish an offshore development company, the Africa Code Foundry, staffed by ACA graduates, that will provide engineering services. <br> - Create a start-up accelerator to aid student entrepreneurs. <br> - Use profits to fund the academies allowing them to become fully self-sufficient.
