NITDA
National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) was created in April 2001 to implement the Nigerian Information Technology Policy and co-ordinate general IT development in the country. <br><br> <mark> NITDA had identified that there is a clear lack of adequate skilled manpower that will drive local content development and industrialization in the country.</mark> <br><br> To address and reduce those inhibiting factors, the use of IT Hubs to foster the further development of all sectors has become imperative. To achieve this and also support the primary responsibility of the agency which is regulation and promote the development of the IT sector, it established IT Hubs in strategic locations across the country. This is also seen as another strategic effort to attract and support stakeholders who are industry players toward the promotion of IT for industrialization. Through capacity development programmes at the centres, the country will overcome the shortage of skilled manpower and address the poor business and investment climate which increasingly hamper the growth of the IT sector. <br><br> Through the Hub, NITDA tends to provide the right enabling environment by putting in place, a combination of high quality infrastructure, support services. Our goal is to train and connect 100,000 African tech talents to high-paying jobs in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa every three years. <mark>This vision is rooted in our firm belief that Africa holds immense untapped potential in the tech industry, and by empowering its brightest minds, we can drive growth and make a lasting impact.</mark> <br><br> We offer fully sponsored tech training programs and certifications for African talents, funded by corporate sponsors, philanthropic organizations, crowdfunding, individual donors, alumni paybacks and government grants. <br><br> Prospective learners undergo a free one-month training to evaluate their suitability. Upon successful completion of the one-month training, selected applicants are required to pay a one-time $100 admission fee.
