NITDA

National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) was created in April 2001 to implement the Nigerian Information Technology Policy and co-ordinate general IT development in the country. NITDA had identified that there is a clear lack of adequate skilled manpower that will drive local content development and industrialization in the country. To address and reduce those inhibiting factors, the use of IT Hubs to foster the further development of all sectors has become imperative. To achieve this and also support the primary responsibility of the agency which is regulation and promote the development of the IT sector, it established IT Hubs in strategic locations across the country. This is also seen as another strategic effort to attract and support stakeholders who are industry players toward the promotion of IT for industrialization. Through capacity development programmes at the centres, the country will overcome the shortage of skilled manpower and address the poor business and investment climate which increasingly hamper the growth of the IT sector. Through the Hub, NITDA tends to provide the right enabling environment by putting in place, a combination of high quality infrastructure, support services. It is expected that the host communities and environs will leverage on the facilities available at the centres and create a full value chain across the IT sector ecosystem. The Hubs are fully equipped with both networking and computing devices to support the complete state of the art Printed Circuit Boards (PBC) production machines. The centres are expected to develop competency for local production of PCB devices and other downstream components of the IT goods. The goal of the HUB UJN is to help small-to-medium enterprises in need of growth by equipping them with the tools and knowledge they need to be sustainable and more profitable. The HUB UJN offers entrepreneurs a set of services tailored to their needs starting from: - Pre-incubation (verification of the viability of the project) - Incubation (setting up a business model) - Acceleration (networking and financial support)

Akewa Accelerator

The Akewa accelerator, SME incubator is the main player in favor of innovative entrepreneurship in Gabon. Its mission is to develop innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship, and to contribute to the structuring of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The accelerator program provides early-stage startups and junior companies with access to mentoring, investors and other support to help them become stable and self-sustaining. It is a program that can last from two to six months. The program aims to ensure that startups and junior companies emerge ready to operate on their own, with a strong position to claim a share of their target markets. In addition to offering mentoring and investment opportunities, this program allows start-ups and junior companies to access logistical and technical resources, as well as shared office space.

CodeABot is a learning facility that teaches Robotics and Coding. Kids and Teens move through levels by completing modules. As learners progress, the focus narrows to Python as the language of choice. In the past, CodeABot has been dedicated to teaching mechanics, electronics, robotics, and coding to kids and teens. With schools now incorporating coding and robotics into their curricula, we seize the opportunity to move forward, beyond what the school curriculum will have to offer. At CodeABot, we are known for our forward-thinking approach. Understanding the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping our world, we are embarking on a bold initiative. We are committing time to not only deepen our comprehension of AI tools but also to seamlessly integrate them into our learning methods and overall business operations. And so for a season, we are suspending the offering of our previous courses, as we refine our focus. Currently on offer We’ve curated our coding course options to focus on Python training. Available are “Ozaria” by CodeCombat and “An Introduction to Python” by ITU Online. These courses offer engaging platforms to learn Python coding effectively. Ozaria by CodeCombat Learners are introduced to Python coding via a game format and Ozaria Classroom. Learners need to assist their avatar through various challenges in a narrative adventure by writing the code that will guide the movements of the avatar. Key coding concepts learnt include: - debugging - loops - sequences - booleans and conditionals Concepts are learnt and immediately implemented by writing the next section of code for the avatar. Introduction to Python by ITU online CodeAbot has secured licenses for the popular course, “Introduction to Python” as offered by ITU Online Learning. The ITU online learning course gives you: - Online access to 7 hrs and 53 min of course video hours - A total of 25 modules. - A downloadable certificate on successful completion of the final course assignment. - The “old style” presentation format of this course makes it suited for mature teens and adults..
